The latest issue of India Today (January 3, 2010) carries an interesting cartoon by Ravi Shankar with an amount boldly inscribed at the top : Rs.176, followed by eleven zeroes. The main cartoon shows Dr. Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi declaring “We have ZERO tolerance for corruption!” and some minions of theirs declaring “We can tolerate many more zeros….”

The total scam money lost by the Bhaaratiya government treasury is approximate 73 Lakh Crore and could be more during the last two decades. Here is glimpse of some major scams of this period.

1, Jeep Purchase (1948) :- Free India’s corruption graph begins. V. K. Krishna Menon, then the Indian high commissioner to Britain, bypassed protocol to sign a deal worth Rs 80 lakh with a foreign firm for the purchase of army jeeps. The case was closed in 1955 and soon after Menon joined the Nehru cabinet.

2, Cycle Imports (1951) :- S.A. Venkataraman, then the secretary, ministry of commerce and industry, was jailed for accepting a bribe in lieu of granting a cycle import quota to a company.

3, BHU Funds (1956) :- In one of the first instances of corruption in educational institutions, Benaras Hindu University officials were accused of misappropriation of funds worth Rs 50 lakh.

4, MUNDHRA SCANDAL (1957):- It was the media that first hinted there might be a scam involving the sale of shares to LIC, Feroz Gandhi sources the confidential correspondence between the then Finance Minister T.T. Krishnamachari and his principal finance secretary, and raised a question in Parliament on the sale of ‘fraudulent’ shares to LIC by a Calcutta-based Marwari businessman named Haridas Mundhra. The then Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, set up a one-man commission headed by Justice M.C.Chagla to investigate the matter when it becomes evident that there was a prima facie case. Chagla concluded that Mundhra had sold fictitious shares to LIC, thereby defrauding the insurance behemoth to the tune of Rs. 1.25 crore. Mundhra was sentenced to 22 years in prison. The scam also forced the resignation of T.T.Krishnamachari.

6, Teja Loans (1960):- Shipping magnate Jayant Dharma Teja took loans worth Rs 22 crore to establish the Jayanti Shipping Company. In 1960, the authorities discovered that he was actually siphoning off money to his own account, after which Teja fled the country.

7, Kairon Scam (1963):- Pratap Singh Kairon became the first Indian chief minister to be accused of abusing his power for his own benefit and that of his sons and relatives. He quit a year later.

8, Patnaik’s Own Goal (1965) :- Orissa Chief Minister Biju Patnaik was forced to resign after it was discovered that he had favoured his privately-held company Kalinga Tubes in awarding a government contract.

9, Maruti Scandal (1974) :- Well before the company was set up, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s name came up in the first Maruti scandal, where her son Sanjay Gandhi was favoured with a license to make passenger cars.

10, Solanki Exposé (1992) :- At the World Economic Forum, Madhavsinh Solanki, then the external affairs minister, slipped a letter to his Swiss counterpart asking their government to stop the probe into the Bofors kickbacks. Solanki resigned when India Today broke the story.

11, Kuo Oil Deal (1976):- The Indian Oil Corporation signed an Rs 2.2-crore oil contract with a non-existent firm in Hong Kong and a kickback was given. The petroleum and chemicals minister was directed to make the purchase.

12, Antulay Trust (1981) :- With the exposure of this scandal concerning A.R. Antulay, then the chief minister of Maharashtra, The Indian Express was reborn. Antulay had garnered Rs 30 crore from businesses dependent on state resources like cement and kept the money in a private trust.

13, HDW Commissions (1987) :- HDW, the German submarine maker, was blacklisted after allegations that commissions worth Rs 20 crore had been paid. In 2005, the case was finally closed, in HDW’s favour.

14, Bofors Pay-Off (1987) :- A Swedish firm was accused of paying Rs 64 crore to Indian bigwigs, including Rajiv Gandhi, then the prime minister, to secure the purchase of the Bofors gun.

15, St Kitts Forgery (1989) :- An attempt was made to sully V.P. Singh’s Mr Clean image by forging documents to allege that he was a beneficiary of his son Ajeya Singh’s account in the First Trust Corp. at St Kitts, with a deposit of $21 million.

16, Airbus Scandal (1990) :- Indian Airlines’s (IA) signing of the Rs 2,000-crore deal with Airbus instead of Boeing caused a furore following the crash of an A-320. New planes were grounded, causing IA a weekly loss of Rs 2.5 crore.

17, Securities Scam (1992) :- Harshad Mehta manipulated banks to siphon off money and invested the funds in the stock market, leading to a crash. The loss: Rs 5,000 crore.

18, Indian Bank Rip-off (1992) :- Aided by M. Gopalakrishnan, then the chairman of the Indian Bank, borrowers-mostly small corporates and exporters from the south-were lent a total of over Rs 1,300 crore, which they never paid back.

19, Sugar Import (1994) :- As food minister, Kalpnath Rai presided over the import of sugar at a price higher than that of the market, causing a loss of Rs 650 crore to the exchequer. He resigned following the allegations.

20, MS SHOES SCAM (1994) :- Anyone who war old enough in 1994 to read will remember the advertisements- tens of them intriguingly headlined: ‘Who is Pawan Sachdeva?’ For the record, it was the peak of the public issued-led advertising boom and the ads were created by the Delhi branch of Rediffusion. Sachdeva, the promoter of MS Shoes, allegedly used company funds to buy shares (of his own company) and rig prices, prior to a public issue. He is alleged to have colluded with officials in the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and SBI Caps, which lead-managed the issue, to dupe the public into investing in his Rs. 699-crore public-***-rights issue. Sachdeva was later acquitted

21, JMM Bribes (1995) :- Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Shailendra Mahato testified that he and three party members received bribes of Rs 30 lakh to bail out the P.V. Narasimha Rao government in the 1993 no-confidence motion.

22, In a Pickle (1996) :- Pickle baron Lakhubhai Pathak raised a stink when he accused former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and godman Chandraswami of accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from him for securing a paper pulp contract.

23, Telecom Scam (1996) :- Former minister of state for communication Sukh Ram was accused of causing a loss of Rs 1.6 crore to the exchequer by favouring a Hyderabad- based private firm in the purchase of telecom equipment. He, along with two others, was convicted in 2002.

24, Fodder Scam (1996) :- The accountant general’s concerns about the withdrawal of excess funds by Bihar’s animal husbandry department unveiled a Rs 950-crore scam involving Lalu Prasad Yadav, then the state chief minister. He resigned a year later.

25, Urea Deal (1996) :- C.S. Ramakrishnan, MD, National Fertiliser, and a group of businessmen close to the P.V. Narasimha Rao regime fleeced the government and took Rs 133 crore from the import of two lakh tonne of urea, which was never delivered.

26, Hawala Diaries (1996) :- The scandal surfaced following CBI raids on hawala operators in Delhi in 1991. But it was S.K. Jain’s diaries that had heads rolling.

27, CRB SCAM (1997) :- Another scam forged by greed and discovered through accident. Chain Roop Bhansali, a smart-talking entrepreneur, created a pyramid financial empire based on high-cost financing. At its peak, his Rs. 1,000-crore financial conglomerate had in its ranks a mutual fund, a financial services company into fixed deposits, and a merchant bank. That Bhansali knew how to work the system became evident when he also managed to secure a provisional banking license. Then his luck ran out. An executive in the State Bank of India Inadvertently discovered that some interest warrants issued by Bhansali were not backed by cash. The bubble finally burst in May 1997, but by that time investors had lost over Rs. 1,000 crore. This was among the first retail scams in India and it was played out, in smaller avatars, across the country-especially in the South where financial services companies promised returns in excess of 20 per cent and decamped with the principal. Bhansali was arrested for a few weeks and released later on bail.

28, MEHTA’S SECOND COMING (1998) :- The Big Bull returned to the bourses. This time, he allegedly colluded with the promoters of BPL, Videocon International, and Sterile Industries to rig the share prices of these companies. The inevitable collapse happened sooner than planned, Harshad Mehta orchestrated a cover-up operation that included a high=jinks effort by officials of Bombay Stock Exchange to (illegally ) open the trading system in the middle of the night to set things right, but the damage had been done. SEBI finally passed its ruling on the scam in 2001, banning the three companies concerned from tapping the market-BPL, for two years. Mehta was debarred for life form dealing in Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) in October 2001

29, VANISHING COMPANIES SCAM (1998) :- A passing remark heard by then Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram resulted in a furore over what was badly-kept secret on Dalal street. Chidambaram was told that hundreds of companies had disappeared after raising moneys form the public. An informal scrutiny revealed that perhaps over 600 companies were missing. Chidambaram ordered a probe by SEBI. The SEBI probe conducted in May 1998 revealed that while many companies are not traded on the bourses at least 80 companies that had rises Rs.330.78 crore were simply missing. Later that year, the Department of Company Affairs (DCA) was asked to probe and penalize these companies. DCA still investigating. Investigations continue to this day.

30, PLANTATION COMPANIES SCAM (1999) :- It was as innovative a swindle as any effected in the world. Savvy entrepreneurs convinced gullible investors that given the right irrigation and fertilizer inputs, teak, strawberries, and anything else that could be grown, would grow anywhere in the country. The promoters could afford to collect money from investors and not worry about retribution (or returns, for that matter). For, plantation companies fell under the purview of neither SEBI nor Reserve Bank of India. Indeed, they didn’t even come under the scope of the Department decided to change things in 1999, enough investors had been gulled: 653 companies, between them, had raised Rs. 2,563 crore from investors. To date, not many investors have got their principals back, just another affirmation of the old saying about money not growing on trees.

31, Match Fixing (2000) :- Mohammed Azharuddin, till then India’s cricket captain, was accused of match-fixing. He and Ajay Sharma were banned from playing, while Ajay Jadeja and Manoj Prabhakar were suspended for five years.

32, KETAN PAREKH SCAM (2001) :- Ketan Parekh’s modus operandi wasn’t very different from Harshad Mehta’s. If Mehta used banker’s receipts, then Parekh used pay orders to ramp up the prices of his favourite scrips (the K-10). Apart from money form the banking system Parekh also rerouted money from corporated like HFCL (Rs. 425 crore), and Zee (Rs. 340 crore) to good effect. He was caught when pay-orders issued by Madhavpura Mercantile Cooperative Bank bounced. Although the total amount involved in the scam was just Rs. 137 crore, the impact was far greater.

Apparently, when a bear cartel sensed Parekh was in trouble, it stepped in and leveraged a dip in the NASDAQ to bear down stock prices. The resultant slump in the markets happened soon after Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha presented what he considered his best budget ever. Under pressure from the government, SEBI investigated the scam and heads began to roll. Among them: the entire management team of BSE, including its president Anand Rathi, CSFB, First Global, and, in an indirect connection, P.S.Subramanyam, the Chairman of UTL Evidently, for the 18 months that PSS was Chairman of UTI, the Trust had mirrored the actions of the bull cartel. The result? When the market tanked, so did the NAV of its holy cow, the US-64.

33, Tehelka Sting (2001) :- Tehelka, an online news portal, used spycams to catch army officers and politicians accepting bribes, in their sting operation called Operation Westend. Investigative journalism turned another corner in the country.

34, Stockmarket Scam (2001) :- The mayhem that wiped off over Rs 1,15,000 crore in the markets in March 2001 was masterminded by the Pentafour bull Ketan Parekh. He was arrested in December 2002 and banned from acccessing the capital market for 14 years.

35, Home Trade Scam (2002) :- Under the pretext of gilt trading, Rs 600 crore was swindled from over 25 cooperative banks in Maharashtra and Gujarat by a Navi Mumbai-based brokerage firm Home Trade. Sanjay Agarwal, CEO of the firm, was arrested in May 2002.

36, Stamp Paper Scam (2003) :- The sheer magnitude of the racket was shocking-it caused a loss of Rs 30,000 crore to the exchequer. Disclosures of the mastermind behind it, Abdul Karim Telgi, implicated top police officers and bureaucrats.

37, Oil-for-Food Scandal (2005) :- K. Natwar Singh was unceremoniously dropped from the Cabinet when his name surfaced in the Volcker Report on the Iraq oil-for-food scam.

What India Could Do with Rs 73 Lakh Crore?

Build: 2.4 crore primary healthcare centres. Thats at least 3 for every village, at a cost of Rs 30 lakh each.

Build: 24.1 lakh Kendriya Vidyalayas at a cost of Rs 3.02 crore each, with two sections from Class VI to XII.

Construct: 14.6 crore low-cost houses assuming a cost of Rs 5 lakh a unit.
Set up: 2,703 coal-based power plants of 600 MW each. Each costs Rs 2,700 crore.

Supply: 12 lakh CFL bulbs. Thats enough light for each of Indias 6 lakh villages

Construct: 14.6 lakh km of two-lane highways. Thats a road around Indias perimeter 97 times over.

Clean up: 50 major rivers for the next 121 years, at Rs 1,200 crore a river every year.

Launch: 90 NREGA-style schemes, each worth roughly Rs 81,111 crore.
Announce: 121 more loan waiver schemes. All of them worth Rs 60,000 crore.

Give: Rs 56,000 to every Indian. Even better, give Rs 1.82 lakh to 40 crore Indians living BPL.

Hand out: 60.8 crore Tata Nanos to 60.8 crore people. Or four times as many laptops.

Grow the GDP: The scam money is 27% more than our GDP of Rs 53 lakh crore.”

Partial History of Christian Missionary Atrocities

INDIA

India’s first major contact with Christianity began when Vasco da Gama, from Portugal, landed with gunboat and priests in 1498… The newcomers were not only merchants but also devout Christians ordered by the Pope: “… to invade, conquer, and subject all the countries which are under rule of the enemies of Christ, Saracens (Moslems who fought against the Christian Crusaders in the middle ages) or Pagan….”

Hindus were forced to convert or faced torture and death. Thousands had to flee Goa in order to keep their culture and religious beliefs.

The historian Gaspar Correa described what Vasco da Gama did, thus:
“When all the Indians had thus been executed, he ordered them to strike upon their teeth with staves and they knocked them down their throats; as they were put on board, heaped on top of each other, mixed up with the blood which streamed from them; and he ordered mats and dry leaves to be spread over them and sails to be set for the shore and the vessels set on fire… ” Before killing and burning the innocent Hindus he had their hands, ears and noses cut off.
…”When the Zamorin (head of the Hindu population) sent another Brahmin (Hindu Priest) to Vasco to plead for peace, he had his lips cut off and his ears cut off. The ears of a dog were sewn on him instead and the Brahmin was sent back to Zamorin in that state. The Brahmin… had brought with him three young boys, two of them his sons and the other a nephew. They were hanged from the yardarm and their bodies sent ashore.”

Francis Xavier, a Jesuit Priest, came soon after Vasco da Gama, with the firm resolve of uprooting Hinduism from the soil of India and planting Christianity in its place. His sayings and doings have been documented in his numerous biographies. Francis Xavier, wrote back home,

“As soon as I arrived in any heathen village, when all are baptized, I order all the temples of their false gods to be destroyed and all the idols to be broken to pieces. I can give you no idea of the joy I feel in seeing this done.” The Church had a special way of dealing with converted Hindus who were suspected of not observing Christian rites with appropriate rigor and enthusiasm, or even of covertly practicing their old faith: “…the culprits would be tracked down and burnt alive.”[28]

Xavier called for an inquisition, recorded by historians as being more horrendous and barbaric than any prior to that. Thousands were tortured mutilated and killed. Thousands had to flee Goa in order to keep their traditional culture and religion.

It is recorded that between 600 and 1,000 Hindu temples and shrines were destroyed, but many consider these numbers to be on the conservative side. [29]

Many types of brutal torture were employed by the Inquisitors, such as mutilation of body parts, fire torture and drownings. The details of this torture are too ghastly and horrid to contemplate for any sane human being.

”Children were flogged and slowly dismembered in front of their parents whose eyelids had been sliced off to make sure they missed nothing. Extremities were amputated carefully, so that a person could remain conscious even when all that remained was a torso and a head.”[30]

The archbishop of Evora, in Portugal, eventually wrote, “If everywhere the Inquisition was an infamous court, the infamy, however base, however vile, however corrupt and determined by worldly interests, it was never more so than in Goa. [31]

Nobody knows the exact number of Goans subjected to these diabolical tortures; low estimates put the number in the tens of thousands, high estimates are in the hundreds of thousands, perhaps even more. The abominations of these inquisitions continued from 1560 until a brief respite was given in 1774, but four years later, the inquisition was introduced again and it continued un-interruptedly until 1812 — the inquisition in Goa wend on for over two-hundred and fifty years. At that point in time, in the year of 1812, the British put pressure on the Portuguese to put an end to the terror of the Inquisition and the presence of British troops in Goa enforced the British desire.[32]

Dr. Trasta Breganka Kunha, a Catholic citizen of Goa writes, “Inspite of all the mutilations and concealment of history, it remains an undoubted fact that religious conversion of Goans is due to methods of force adopted by the Portuguese to establish their rule. As a result of this violence the character of our people was destroyed. The propagation of Christian sect in Goa came about not by religious preaching but through the methods of violence and pressure. If any evidence is needed for this fact, we can obtain it through law books, orders and reports of the local rulers of that time and also from the most dependable documents of the Christian sect itself.”[33]

A proposed celebration for the 500 year anniversary of Vasco de Gama’s arrival in India was fiercly proposed and successfully stopped, bringing together a surprising alliance of Hindus, Muslims, left wing campaigners and environmentalists.

The Gaur-Sarasvata Brahmins were one such sect who had to flee at the hands of the invading fanatics. Now their sect is situated in the state of Karnataka. Leaving everything behind and starting from scratch they are now a very well to do and prosperous community. Their temples rival any in the world. Still practicing their ancient Vedic religion, the Gaur-Sarasvata Brahmins are recognized for their dignity, honesty and contributions to society. This soundly nullifies the idea propagated by the Christian zealots that Hindu religion is heathen and pagan.

Frances Xavier is commonly known as ‘St. Francis Xavier,’ ‘the Patron Saint of the East.’ He is still worshipped, prayed to and honored as the pure representative of Jesus Christ and his gospel by Christians all over the world. There are innumerable hospitals, schools, and other institutions in India named after him. Even today the archdiocese of Goa boasts,

“The glorious chapter of the expansion of the Catholic Church in the east can be said to have begun after the European ‘discovery’ of the sea route to India in 1498. This helped the coming of the European fathers to these lands, one of them being St. Francis Xavier, the great Apostle of the East and Patron of the Missions. Goa is privileged to have been the starting point of his Church work labours and the place where his sacred remains are preserved. Goa was called the “Rome of the East” due to the central role it played in evangelization of the east.” [34]

India today is ruled by a secular government modeled after the western democracies. What many Indians do not understand is that the idea of secular government, first seen in the United States of America, was a reaction to the theocratic tyrannies that pervaded the Dark Ages of Europe all the way to the founding of the American nation. Separation of religion and government were an effort to ward off and prevent any Christian theocracy from taking control in modern times.

Now the Christian tactics have changed, but their underlying premise that ‘Christianity is the only true religion’ nullifies all their attempts of portraying themselves as tolerant and loving. The reality is that Christianity has not changed its theology, it has only changed its techniques of conversion. Christian evangelists are now using vast amounts of wealth (billions of US dollars) to spread their propaganda. Mission activity in India comes in the guise of helping the downtrodden, sick and helpless. In reality the aim is the same — to convert all to Christianity and in the wake destroy all the cultures and religions that lie in the way. There is no need to abuse, attack, or condemn the Non-Christian religions. The plain truth is the Christian Missionaries work with usage of lies, falsehood, and hypocrisy. The social improvement facade is only a camouflage or disguise for conversion work.

Why should the Christian Missionaries want to collect converts? Because, it is in the nature of the religions of exclusivity (Islam and Christianity) to try to make every one like them in terms of religion. They have no use, whatsoever, for pluralism or respect for other religions; in fact what they have is pure contempt for other religions. Further, this exclusivity attachment and attitude comes straight from the horse’s mouth i.e. from their scriptures. For instance, in the Bible Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15-16, and Luke 24:46-47 every Christian is commanded to make converts and it is the duty of every Christian to uphold these commands of the Bible.

A glance at their activities in India clearly reveals that the Christian Missionaries denigrate and demonize the Hindus every single day. Hinduism is equated with Devil Worship and Hindus are described as Heathens, as workers for the Devil, and as lost souls who are headed straight to hell.

Now-a-days, in most civilized countries, open and outright utterance of ignoble and unflattering slurs and put downs on the basis of race, religion, creed, or other affiliation is not tolerated because it has been legislated as illegal. But in Pseudo-Secular India, Hindus can be freely insulted, abused, degraded and dragged into mud, by the Christian Missionaries with impunity, without any fear of lawsuit. They freely broadcast their Hate-Hindu, vile and vituperative propaganda into Indian villages and cities.
Because the preacher of Christianity single-mindedly believes his loathing gospels of hate, seeing them as divine commands from his religion, he utters venom and vindictiveness against the Hindu with zeal and with [in their estimation] a clear conscience.

Nearly every single day, rhetoric similar to the words below confirm the reality that Christianity, while posing as a religion of love, peace and tolerance is anything but that.

“These Hindu Heathens have their idols and their superstitions, their idol-bearing temples and shrines where they conduct their noisy foolish rituals and ceremonies. They generate a lot of evil. They are totally ignorant that Jesus Christ came to overcome death. There is a great need to propagate the Christian Gospel amongst them.”

Only now is India beginning to realize what the Christian Mission activity is really all about. This is evidenced in states like Nagaland, Mizoram, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and in other areas in Northeast India. As soon as Christians become a majority in a given area, they sow the venom of hatred and strife, turning family member against family member, villager against villager and instigate their Christian followers to ask for self-determination and a Christian Homeland. This is virtually the same technique that the Moslems continue to use with success.

As soon as a convert is made, they are greatly encouraged to vehemently and publicly denigrate their previous culture, traditions and everything related to it. This greatly disrupts the entire community and its normal social and economic activities.

Militant Christians in several of these Northeastern Indian provinces have been forcing non-Christian residents to either convert to Christianity or face capital punishment. With death staring at their face, most of the adult members have fled the villages to escape torture, resulting in disruption of agricultural activities. Buddhist leaders of both the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh have strongly condemned the heinous carnage committed by the militants on the peace-loving Buddhists and tribal cult followers.
Because Hindus now know what the Christians are up to, it is time to take some serious steps to counter the Christian propaganda and instill pride in Indians across the nation for their glorious past and distinguished Vedic heritage.

CONCLUSION

Christians have always portrayed non-Christian civilizations as backwards, underdeveloped, superstitious, and barbaric. What really underlies all of their criticism is that these cultures do not accept Jesus, the Bible and their western way of life. This is what, in the Christians’ opinion, deems these cultures as needing their help, when in fact the their fervor to destroy any theistic conception other than Christianity or any temple other than a church shows that they are really the ones who are showing the qualities of barbarians.

Today, many are uninformed and believe that mission excesses only took place in prior times and today’s preaching works are a ‘good thing.’ But as long as the basic premises and theology that underly all the abuses that took place in the past are not corrected, the result of mission activities will remain the same: Genocide and destruction of all that lies in its way, replacing it with the ‘superior religion and culture’ that most missionaries believe they are delivering.

In retrospect, these various ethnic cultures were far better off before the introduction of Christianity, as it had nothing better to offer them. In reality, these cultures were decimated, their histories were erased, their cultural traditions eradicated, their former religions destroyed and they were left more unhappy than before the arrival of Christianity.

There have been many revisions in the teachings of Jesus Christ since it first took hold some 2,000 years ago. But until the xenophobic and iconoclastic teachings of the Bible are corrected, mission activity will yield the same catastrophic results. As taught in the Bible, ‘we can know a tree by its fruit,’ these evangelists need to adopt a more pluralistic theology, recognizing the divinity in other religions and the contributions of other cultures and further recognize that theirs is not the only path to salvation. Suffice it to say, until these things have been corrected, that to label such endeavors for Christ as good works or pious activity is wrong.

Otherwise, in this modern age, those deemed with good intelligence, who are advanced in philosophy and science, have no other choice than to condemn these preaching activities worldwide, which seek to destroy ethnic cultures. Mission activities need to be monitored and the conversion agenda needs to be reconsidered.

64 ஆண்டுகள் ஆட்சியில் இருந்து காங்கிரஸ் செய்த சாதனைகள் பட்டியல்போட ஆரம்பித்தால் தலை கிறுகிறுத்துப் போய் விடும். விவசாயிகள் தற்கொலை, உலகம் அதிரும் ஊழல், அமைச்சர்கள் எல்லோரும் ஊழல்வாதிகள், கண்டுகொள்ளாத பிரைம் மினிஸ்டர், போதாதற்கு என்று தண்ணீர் பிரச்சினை, சாதாரண வெளி நாட்டுக் கம்பெனியிடம் தோற்றுப் போன சட்டங்கள் என்று அனைத்து விஷயங்களிலும் தோல்வி கண்ட காங்கிரஸ் கட்சி இனி இந்தியாவை ஆள்வதற்கு தகுதி அற்றுப் போய் விட்டது. ஒரே ஒரு விஷயம் மட்டும் தான் இத்தனை ஆண்டுகால காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியின் சாதனையாக கருத முடியும். அது ரைட் டு இன்ஃபர்மேஷன் ஆக்ட்.

உங்களுக்குத் தெரியுமா? சேர் மார்க்கெட் இருக்கிறதே ஷேர் மார்க்கெட், முக்கியமான மூவரின் கட்டுப்பாட்டில் தான் இந்தியாவின் ஷேர் மார்க்கெட்டே இருக்கிறது என்கிறார்கள் மிக முக்கியமான பத்திரிக்கையாளர்கள். இவர்கள் மூவருக்காகத்தான் இந்தியாவின் ஷேர் மார்க்கெட்டே இயங்குகிறது என்கின்றார்கள். இந்தியாவின் பெரும்பான்மையான சொத்துக்கள் இவர்களின் பினாமி வசம் இருக்கிறதாம். மும்மையின் பெரும்பான்மையான முக்கிய விலை உயர்ந்த சொத்துக்களை இந்த மூவர் கூட்டணி கபளீகரம் செய்து விட்டதாம்.

வெளி நாட்டில் இருக்கும் இரு கம்பெனிகள் இணைகின்றன. இந்தியாவிலும் இணைந்தன. ஆனால் அதற்கான பரிவர்த்தனைக்கு வரி கட்ட வேண்டியதில்லையாம். எப்படி இருக்கிறது பாருங்கள் வெளி நாட்டு மூலதனம் பற்றிய சட்டங்கள். இந்த ஓட்டையைச் சரியாகக் கண்டு பிடித்து இந்திய மக்களுக்குச் சேர வேண்டிய பணத்தை தனியார் கம்பெனியார்கள் கொள்ளை அடித்து விட்டார்கள்.

இதுவரையிலும் அதிகார துஷ்பிரயோகம் செய்து டிவியை வளர்த்த இருவரை ஒன்றும் செய்யாத சிபிஐ பற்றியும், அதை தன்னிடம் வைத்திருக்கும் பிரதமர் பற்றியும் தொடர்ந்து எழுத என்ன இருக்கிறது? இப்படி ஒரு சட்டத்தின் ஆட்சி இந்தியாவில் நடக்கிறது.

ஒரு வழக்கு கோர்ட்டில் இருக்கும் போது, அதைப் பற்றி கேரள மினிஸ்டர் ஒருவர் தீர்ப்பு கேரளாவிற்கு பாதகமாய் இருந்தால் ஏற்க மாட்டோம் என்கிறார். அவர் இந்தியாவில் தான் இருக்கின்றாரா? அவர் மினிஸ்டர் தானா? கேரளா தனி நாடா என்றெல்லாம் கேள்வி கேட்டால் பதில் சொல்வார் யாரோ? சுப்ரீம் கோர்ட் இவரின் மீது என்ன வித நீதிமன்ற அவமதிப்பு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப் போகின்றது ?

இந்த கேரள மினிஸ்டர், மினிஸ்டராக இருக்கவே தகுதியற்றவர் அல்லவா? இவர் மீது தமிழக அரசு ஏன் வழக்கு தொடருமா? இல்லை சுப்ரீம் கோர்ட்டே விசாரிக்குமா? இவர் என்ன டெக்னாலஜியை வைத்து இப்படிச் சொல்கின்றார்? இதைப் பற்றி ஏதாவது தெரியுமா?

கூடங்குளம் அணு உலை பற்றியச் செய்திக்கு தினமலர் போராட்டக்காரர்களைப் பற்றிய தனிப்பட்ட செய்திகளை பெரிது படுத்தி, போராட்ட்டத்தை நீர்க்கச் செய்யும் அக்கிரமமான வேலையைச் செய்து வருகிறது. முன்பே அனாதியில் அணு உலையை இயக்கச் செய்வார்கள் என்று எழுதி இருந்ததை நண்பர்கள் கவனத்தில் கொள்ள வேண்டும். எந்த ஒரு போராட்டமும் அதிகாரமும், அயோக்கியத்தனமும், சுய நலமும் பொருந்திய ஆட்சியாளர்களிடம் எடுபடாது. போராட்ட மக்களை அழித்து விடுவார்கள் என்பதற்கு அணு உலை உதாரணம். மீடியா மாஃபியாக்களினால் ஜன நாயகத்தின் வேர்கள் தீக்கிறையாக்கப்பட்டு விட்டன. இத்தனை ஆண்டுகால ஜன நாயக ஆட்சியை காங்கிரஸ் கட்சி பெரும் கம்பெனிக்காரர்களின் ஆட்சியாய் மாற்றியதைத் தவிர இந்திய மக்களுக்கு தீங்கினையே செய்து வந்துள்ளது என்பது உண்மை.

சுய நலமற்ற தலைமையும், இந்தியாவின் மீது பற்றுமுள்ள, அதிரடி நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுக்கக் கூடிய தலைவர்கள் தான் இந்தியாவிற்குத் தேவை. ஒருவர் கூட காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியில் இல்லை.

தமிழகம் ஒழிர்கிறது

அனாதிக்கு, இத்தனை நாளாக உடல் உழைப்பால் வாயைக் கட்டி வயிற்றைக் கட்டி வாங்கிய அரைகிரவுண்ட் வீட்டினை அடகு வைத்து வங்கியில் லோன் வாங்கி கம்பெனி ஒன்றினை உருவாக்கினேன். காலை 9 மணியிலிருந்து 12 மணி வரையிலும் கரண்ட் இல்லை. மாலை 3 மணியிலிருந்து 6 மணி வரை கரண்ட் இல்லை. இரவு 7 மணியிலிருந்து 8 மணி வரை கரண்ட் இல்லை. இரவு 9 மணியிலிருந்து 10 மணி வரை கரண்ட் இல்லை. ஆக மொத்தம் எட்டு மணி நேரம் கரண்ட் இல்லை. ஒன்பது மணிக்கு ஆரம்பித்து இரவு 10 மணி வரை மொத்தம் 13 மணி நேரத்தில் எட்டு மணி நேரம் கரண்ட் இல்லை என்றால் எப்படி தொழில் செய்வது? வேலைக்காரர்களுக்கு சம்பளம் கொடுக்கவாவது வேலை செய்ய வேண்டுமே அதற்கும் வழி இல்லாமல் போய் விட்டது.

நான் பட்டினியாய்க் கிடக்கலாம், எனக்குப் பிறந்த கொடுமைக்காக குழந்தைகள் பட்டினி கிடக்கலாம், நன்றாக வாழ வைப்பார் என்று நம்பி வந்த மனைவியைக் கூட பட்டினி போடலாம். ஆனால் என்னை நம்பி வந்திருக்கும் வேலைக்காரர்களை பட்டினி போடலாமா? மாதம் ஐந்து தேதிக்குள் வங்கியில் இருந்து வசூல் செய்ய வந்து விடுவார்கள். வாடகை கட்ட வேண்டும். குழந்தைகளுக்கு பள்ளிக் கட்டணம் கட்ட வேண்டும். நான் என்ன செய்வேன்? தொழில் நடந்தால் அல்லவா பிழைக்க முடியும். அதற்கு கரண்ட் வேண்டுமில்லையா? அதைத் தரவே முடியாது, உன்னால் ஆனால் உயிரோடு இரு, இல்லையென்றால் குடும்பத்தோடு செத்துப் போ என்கிறதே இன்றைய அரசாங்கம்?

நான் ஆட்சிக்கு வந்தால் கரண்ட் கட் இல்லாமல் செய்வேன் என்று புரட்சி முழக்கம் செய்தார்களே, ஆரம்பத்தில் இரண்டு மணி நேரம் பவர் கட் செய்தவர்கள் இன்றைக்கு அதை எட்டு மணி நேரமாக மாற்றியது தான் அவர்களுக்கு ஓட்டு போட்ட என் போன்ற மக்களுக்கு அவர்கள் காட்டும் செய்நன்றிக் கடனா? சென்னையில் மட்டும் ஒரு மணி நேரம் பவர் கட், ஆனால் பிற பகுதிகளில் எட்டு மணி நேரம் பவர் கட் என்பது தான் சமதர்மத்தைச் சொல்லும் ஜன நாயக ஆட்சியா?

சென்னைக்காரர்கள் ஏசியில் உறங்கி உல்லாசத்தில் மகிழ்கின்றார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு நன்கு உரக்கம் வர கரண்ட் கொடுக்கும் அரசு, பிழைக்க உயிர் நாடியாக இருப்போருக்கு, தவிப்போருக்கு கரண்ட் கொடுக்க மறுப்பது ஏன்? இப்படியே சென்று கொண்டிருந்தால் நான் என் குடும்பத்தோடு தற்கொலை தான் செய்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். அதைத்தான் இன்றைய அரசு விரும்புகிறதா? ஆட்சிக்கு வந்த உடனே கரண்ட் கொடுக்கிறேன் என்று பேசியதெல்லாம் மக்களை ஏமாற்றத்தானா? இது தான் ஆட்சியா? இது தான் நீதியா? இதுதான் தர்மமா? சென்னை மட்டும் வாழ வேண்டும். பிற பகுதியினர் எல்லாம் கரண்ட் இல்லாமல் துன்பப்பட வேண்டுமென்று இந்த அரசு நினைக்கிறதா?

இது பற்றி நீங்கள் ஏதும் எழுதுவது இல்லையே ஏன்? அதிகாரத்திற்கு பயந்து போய் விட்டீர்களா? ”வெளிச்சத்தில்” என்று பெயர் வைத்துக் கொண்டு இது நாள் வரையிலும் இந்த ஆட்சியில் நடக்கும் அவலங்களைப் பற்றி ஏதும் எழுதாமல் இருக்கின்றீர்களே ஏன்? உங்கள் மீதான நம்பிக்கை அவ நம்பிக்கையாய் மாறி விட்டது அனாதி.

திரு சுதர்சன், உங்களின் கடிதத்தை அப்படியே பதிவேற்றி விட்டேன். மக்களை எந்தப் பிரச்சினையும் இல்லாமல் வாழ அனுமதிக்கவும், அவர்களுக்குத் தேவையானதை செய்து கொடுப்பதும் ஒரு அரசின் வேலை. ஆனால் தமிழகத்தினை ஆண்டு வந்த அரசுகள் எதுவும் அப்படியான வேலை எதையும் இதுகாறும் செய்யவே இல்லை என்பதுதான் வேதனை. அதற்காக தற்கொலை என்பதெல்லாம் தேவையில்லை. தமிழகத்தில் வாழவே முடியாத நிலைக்கு மக்கள் தள்ளப்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று பலரும் பேச ஆரம்பித்து விட்டார்கள். மக்களின் மனதில் இந்த ஆட்சியின் மீதான நம்பிக்கையின்மை கோடாய் விரிய ஆரம்பித்திருக்கின்றது. இந்த ஆட்சிக்கு அந்த ஆட்சியே பரவாயில்லை என்று பேச ஆரம்பித்திருக்கின்றார்கள். முக்கிய காரணம் “மின்வெட்டு”. இது குடும்பங்களை நேரடியாகப் பாதிக்கின்றது. இந்தச் சூழலில் மின்சாரக்கட்டணம் அதிகமாகின்றது என்றுச் சொல்கின்றார்கள். இது மேலும் மேலும் ஆட்சியின் மீதான அவ நம்பிக்கையை அதிகப்படுத்தி விடும். பால் விலை, பஸ் கட்டணம் விலை உயர்வு வெகு சாதாரணமானது. மின்சாரம் கொடுக்க மாட்டோம், ஆனால் மின் கட்டணத்தை உயர்த்துவோம் என்பது “எரியும் நெருப்பில் நெய்யை ஊற்றுவது போலாகும்”.

கோடை காலம் ஆரம்பிக்கும் முன்பே எட்டு மணி நேரம் பவர் கட் என்றால் கோடை காலத்தில் நிச்சயம் பத்து மணி நேரம் பவர் கட்டாக சாத்தியங்கள் இருக்கின்றன. அதற்கு காரணம் இந்த அரசு மட்டுமல்ல, பத்தாண்டுகள் ஆண்ட திமுக அரசு தான் முதற்காரணம். மத்திய அரசு மாநில அரசை வதைக்கின்றது என்றுச் சொல்கின்றார்கள். அல்லது திமுகவினரின் சதியாக கூட இருக்கலாம்.

சினிமாக்காரர்கள் தற்போதைய முதலமைச்சர் ஆட்சிப் பொறுப்பிற்கு வந்ததும் விழா நடத்துகிறோம் பேர்வழி என்று அனுமதி கேட்டார்கள். எத்தனை ஆயிரம் வாட்ஸ் கரண்ட் செலவாகும், தமிழகமே இருளில் தவிக்கும் போது விழாவாது ஒன்றாவது என்று அப்படிப்பட்ட எந்த ஒரு விழாவையும் நடத்தவே கூடாது என்று மறுத்து விட்டார்கள் இன்றைய முதல்வர் என்று முக்கியப் பொறுப்பில் இருக்கும் சினிமா இயக்குனர் ஒருவர் என்னிடம் சொன்னார். பேருக்கும் புகழுரைக்கும் ஆசைப்படும் அரசியல்வாதியில் தற்போதைய முதல்வர் வித்தியாசப்படுகின்றார். ஆகையால் மின்சாரம் இருந்தும் மின்சாரம் கொடுக்கவில்லை என்று குற்றம் சாட்ட முடியாது. எங்கிருந்து மின்சாரம் கொடுப்பது? இருந்தால் அல்லவா கொடுப்பதற்கு? இருப்பதை முடிந்த அளவு பகிர்ந்து கொடுக்கின்றார்கள்.

இருப்பினும் சென்னையில் மட்டும் ஒரு மணி நேரம் மின்வெட்டு என்பது ஜீரணிக்க முடியாத ஒன்றுதான். தமிழகமெங்கும் ஒரே மாதிரி பவர் கட் செய்வதுதான் சரியானது. சென்னைக்கு மட்டும் ஸ்பெஷல் என்பதை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள இயலாது. கோர்ட் படி ஏறினால் இதற்கொரு வழி பிறக்கும். உங்களூர் மக்கள் ஒன்று சேர்ந்து அத்தகைய ஒரு செயலைச் செய்யலாம். சென்னையில் அதிகப்படியான மின் உபயோகம் செய்கின்றார்கள். அங்கும் ஒரே அளவு நேரம் மின் வெட்டினை அமல் படுத்தினால் கிடைக்கும் மின்சாரத்தில் தமிழகமெங்கும் ஓரளவு மின்வெட்டினைக் குறைக்கலாம்.

இந்த ஆட்சியில் பலவித சர்ச்சைக்குரிய பிரச்சினைகள் இருக்கின்றன. அதுபற்றி விரிவாக விரைவில் எழுதுவோம். அதற்குள் அவசரப்பட்டால் எப்படி?அதிகாரத்திற்கு பயப்பட நாங்கள் திருட்டுத்தனமா செய்து வருகின்றோம். மடியில் கனம் இருந்தால் வழியில் பயமிருக்கும். அப்படியான எந்த ஒரு கனமும் எங்களிடத்தில் இல்லை.

திமுக ஆட்சியில் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட இத்தகைய பிரச்சினைக்கு நான் ஆட்சிக்கு வந்ததும் சரி செய்வேன் என்றுச் சொல்லி ஓட்டு வாங்கினார்கள் தான். நான் இல்லையென்றுச் சொல்லவில்லை. ஆனால் எங்கிருந்து கரண்ட் வாங்குவது என்பதுதான் பிரச்சினை. கூடங்குளம் அணு உலையின் பிரச்சினை உங்களுக்குத் தெரியும். மத்திய அரசாங்கத்தின் “கண்ணை விற்று சித்திரம் வாங்கும்” இத்தகைய அணு உலைகளின் மூலம் கிடைக்கும் மின்சாரம் பற்றி எனக்கு எதுவும் எழுத தோன்றவில்லை.

நீங்கள் எழுதி இருப்பதை வைத்துப் பார்த்தால், நிலைமை இப்படியே சென்றால் விரைவில் தமிழர்கள் தமிழகத்திலிருந்து அண்டிப் பிழைக்க வேறு மாநிலங்களுக்கு அகதிகளாய் செல்லத்தான் நேரிடும். சிறு தொழில்கள் அழிக்கப்பட்டு விடும். அக்குடும்பங்கள் கடனாளி ஆகும். கடன் கட்ட முடியாமல் தற்கொலைகள் அதிகமாகும். இதைத் தமிழர்களின் விதி என்றுதான் சொல்ல வேண்டும். ஏனென்றால் பத்து கிலோ மீட்டர் தூரத்தில் கொத்துக் கொத்தாய் தமிழர்களைக் கொன்று குவித்த போது நாமெல்லாம் செம்மொழி விழாவில் ஆட்டம் பாட்டங்களை பார்த்து ரசித்தவர்கள் தமிழ் நாட்டவர்கள். இப்படியான எண்ணப் போக்குதான் தமிழர்களுக்கு என்ன துன்பமிழைத்தாலும் சகித்துக் கொள்வார்கள் என்று பிறர் நினைக்கும்படி ஆகி விட்டது. ஒழுங்காக ஆட்சி செய்யவில்லை என்றால் மக்கள் சகித்துக் கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள் என்றால் ஆட்சி செய்பவர்களுக்குப் பயமிருக்கும். அந்தக் காலத்தில் ஐந்து பைசா பேருந்து கட்டணத்தை உயர்த்தியதற்காக, தெருவில் இறங்கிப் போராடினார்கள் மக்கள். அரண்டு போன ஆட்சியாளர்கள் உடனடியாக கட்டணத்தைக் குறைத்தார்கள். ஆனால் இன்றைக்கு மக்களை போராட்டத்திற்கு அழையுங்கள் பார்ப்போம். போடா போடா என்பார்கள்.

தமிழர்கள் ஆட்டு மந்தைக் கூட்டமாய் மாறி சினிமாக்காரர்களின் பெண்டாட்டிகள் வைர ஒட்டியாணம் போட தங்கள் காசுகளை இறைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.

மின்வெட்டு உங்கள் பிரச்சினை மட்டுமல்ல, மொத்த தமிழகத்திற்கும் மன்னிக்க சென்னை தவிர்த்த தமிழகத்திற்கும் பிரச்சினை. கூடிய விரைவில் சரி செய்வோம் என்கிறார்கள். அதுவரை பொறுத்து இருங்கள் சுதர்சன். என்ன நடக்கின்றது என்று பார்க்கலாம். “இதுவும் கடந்து போம்” என்று எண்ணிக் கொள்ளுங்கள். விரைவில் தமிழக அரசு மின்வெட்டினை முற்றிலுமாய் நீக்கும் என்று நம்புவோம். நம்பிக்கை தான் வாழ்க்கை சுதர்சன்.
