Reports of sexual crimes against children in India

Oftentimes, I come across the news of children being the victims of sexual assault or abuse in India. Today's Deccan Chronicle i.e 10.8.2010 of Bengaluru edition carries one such news in which a 2 year old child has been assaulted by a group of persons at the age of 24 to 25. This incident is reported from Combatore. But when you browse the net, you can read many such incidents in India where we treat children are next to God. For some of us, it is a news; More than that we don't worry about such issues, as long as our children are safe. Then, what else can we do to stop such crimes?

The responsibility lies with every parent and with every citizen, every neighbor, everyone who claims himself or herself a human. I have published articles copied from various websites related to Child abuse. I believe those articles will help you to understand how much care is needed for preventing children from such horror. Read those articles and circulate the same to your friends and create awareness among parents. If we think, it is none of our job, then, we are unfit to call ourselves a responsible citizens of this country. While creating awareness among the innocent and illiterate parents who don't even a get any chance of reading news papers or magazines or watching TVs, you are doing some social service to this nation on one hand and on the other, you serve to God as children are the true form of God Himself.

The News papers in Tamil are aiming only how to improve their circulation publishing news about celebrities and the dogs at their homes. No media will pay attention to such crimes against children, particularly the well known channels. They telecast the Music launch of Cinemas for hours together. The actors who act in that particular film would use the stage to build their fan circle. If one such actor or actress takes up this issue among the audience, it will reach thousands and thousands of families. That will work out a lot more than what one imagines. Its not question of blaming one to one. All we need is action - I wish there should not be any such incident reported from anywhere in this country.

I beg your support to promote these activities across nation and world.

With love,

Umashankar. K
